The Long Lost Art of Getting Lost

hello swirl I've heard Prescription and Arrow a few times and love them. Listening to all the album now, probably Hawk is my favorite. It's very beautiful. (One day I hope that song with the lines "You got a dog on a leash and a pig on yer plate" is rerecorded - it's wonderful, in the tradition and humor of great folk music, and many of the songs from Live of '07 are great) Favorite track: Prescription.

1.
Erosion 04:50
the stitches sewn across his face / the bridges woven across this place / for winds to turn, the waters break / with every birth, a mother aches / the boulders on your back will erode / into stones swallowed by streams / this moment folded into threes / how waking minds slide into sleep / fall and rise / fall and rise / fall rise / fall and rise
2.
Arrow 07:25
warrior, go look into the lake your thunder made / you ordered floods, then wondered why we all floated away / warrior, go look into the skulls perched at your gate / you guarded up your fortress, then were angered when we strayed / oh warrior, your arrows are pointed at your own kin(g) / there's no precipice / this is solid ground, not a dead end cliff / you're walking on suspended rope / meanwhile, one step down, red earth unfolds / this is solid ground / you can't drill it or dig your way out / oh warrior, your arrows are pointed at your own kin(g) / drinking down the purest water, you taste a mouth full of blackened tar / drinking down the purest water, you spit it out, killing the fire
3.
Prescription 06:55
doctor doctor, with your brick and mortar / grind these guns to powder / turn the war to order / i've been waiting so long / doctor doctor, the pellets you prescribed / bullets in the battle / to let the beasts turn quiet / i've been waiting so long / cut your hair and feed it to your demons / so you can stuff their mouths and clog their throats / cut your hair and feed it to your demons / so you can't hear them shout anymore
4.
Spider Bite 06:04
5.
Hawk 06:28
flightless hawk on asphalt melted / headed south, migration halted / empty air left only traces / the message clear: wings on the pavement / fading flock / chill of the changing equinox / one destination in their blood / circling and sacred / these feathered gods / this crawling angel / why have you gone / my flightless hawk / why have you gone / my flightless hawk / reverse the tides / send back the sun / return to flight / fill up your lungs
6.
Willow 04:25
white willow bark / tied around his ankles / we buried him with emblems / the pale branches formed a shroud / to offer their protection and to release him from the ground / we tried to warn you / these forest floors have a lot to say / we tried to warn you / don't build your forts on top of graves / we tried to warn you / we tried to warn you / we tried to warn you / white willow bark / white willow bark
7.
Return 04:53
in merging form with light gone flattened we have forgotten our hands and our eyes / and slowness was buried under the suffocated bones of buffalo / but our animal instincts / waiting, came sprouting forth / when we left the gridded streets / and we let our feet taste dirt / and our eyes returned to sun / return to the sun / return to the sun / for years, sleepless / stuck inside / shells of walls and windows / portions of sky / sheltered from reminders of the cycle of death / but in the potency of elements, we found our place in it / when our eyes returned to the sun / return to the sun / return to the sun
